Confessions of “a Runner?”

Loving The Run. It’s a website about running. Written by a runner. Read by other runners who also love to run. Right?!

Confession #1: I haven’t been running much lately.
Confession #2: I have been doing a lot of yoga lately.
Confession #3: I haven’t been writing much lately.

While it’s not necessary to apologize for these confessions, I do feel like I should explain.

Confession #4: Sometimes I get burned out from running.

I love to run, but there are times when it doesn’t feel right, for whatever reason: The miles aren’t giving me that glorioius ’runner’s high.’ I don’t feel like training for a race. And I’m not at all concerned about the ZERO on my Daily Mile weekly report.

Granted, I haven’t been sedentary. Instead of running, I’ve been doing a lot of yoga. And this ’forced stretching,’ as I call it, has filled my soul with great tranquility. I first wrote about giving yoga another shot back in June. Since then, I’ve delicately balanced both activities. It’s been the last three weeks, however - since I was introduced to YogaGlo – that I’ve almost exclusively pulled out my mat and block instead of my running shoes.

There are great benefits to practicing yoga. And for now, it’s where I want to be.

(Confession #5: I recently bought a sketch book. When the words don’t come  – see Confession #4 - I still need a venue for creative output. So I’m giving drawing a try.)

If you’re gonna draw, I’m expecting a post with your drawings. No pressure.

I love YogaGlo! It completely changed my yoga practice. Having access to great classes around the clock and at my house encouraged me to practice more in between swimming, biking and running.

I am absolutely loving YogaGlo. I’ve only been practicing a few weeks, but it is easy to find the classes I want and there is no excuse! Even a 5-10 minute instructional class starts my day off well.
