My Five Building Blocks
I stopped writing New Year resolutions years ago. Seriously, why set yourself up for failure like that?
I need smaller, more tangible and manageable goals. Instead of looking back in December, I want to look back on each day and ask myself:
Did I run?
Did I eat vegetables?
Was I a good teacher of life to my kids?
Was I wise with my money?
Did I practice mindfulness?
Maybe if I thought really hard, I might come up with a few more questions, but I've found that if you tear away the excess packaging of life, you are left with the richest core elements.
If each day is built on these five blocks, 2014 will be a good year.
